    Account Information

    • Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
    • Full name (optional, for personalization)
    • Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)

    User-Generated Content

    • Journal entries
    • Mood and emotion logs
    • Goals, tasks, and subtasks
    • Saved affirmations
    • Day ratings and locations
    • App preferences (language, theme, affirmation types)

    Technical Information

    • Device type and operating system
    • App version
    • Anonymized error logs (for debugging)
    • Sync timestamps (for conflict resolution)

    What We DON'T Collect

    • GPS coordinates or precise location data
    • Contacts or photos
    • Browsing history
    • Voice recordings (voice-to-text is processed entirely on-device)
    • Any data from other apps

    How We Use Your Information

    Primary Uses

    • Authentication : Verify your identity and secure your account
    • Data Sync : Keep your data synchronized across your devices
    • Personalization : Display affirmations in your selected language and types
    • Service Improvement : Fix bugs and improve app performance

    What We DON'T Do

    • Read your journal entries
    • Analyze your mood patterns for marketing
    • Share data with third parties
    • Sell your information
    • Use your content to train AI models
    • Display advertisements based on your personal data

    Data Storage & Security

    Local Storage

    • All your data is stored first on your device in encrypted local databases (SQLite)
    • Works completely offline
    • Protected by your device's security features (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android)

    Cloud Storage

    • Data synced to Supabase (our backend service provider)
    • Encrypted in transit : HTTPS/TLS 1.3
    • Encrypted at rest : AES-256 encryption
    • Servers located in secure data centers
    • Regular backups for data recovery

    Voice Processing

    • Voice-to-text transcription happens entirely on your device
    • No audio is ever transmitted to servers
    • Only the transcribed text is saved
    • Audio is discarded immediately after processing

    Data Sharing

    We do not share your personal data with third parties, except:

    Service Providers

    • Supabase : Backend database and authentication (subject to their privacy policy)
    • Azure Speech Services (optional): Cloud voice transcription for premium users who opt in

    These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and cannot use it for their own purposes.

    Legal Requirements

    We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request. We will notify you unless legally prohibited.

    Your Rights

    You have complete control over your data:

    Access

    • View all your data within the app at any time
    • Export your data (feature coming soon)

    Correction

    • Edit or update any information directly in the app
    • Change account details in Settings

    Deletion

    • Delete individual entries (journals, moods, emotions)
    • Clear all timeline data
    • Delete your entire account and all associated data

    To delete your account: Account Settings → Delete Account

    Deletion is permanent. We will remove all your data from our servers within 30 days.

    Children's Privacy

    LightSeed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

    Data Retention

    • Active accounts : Data retained as long as your account exists
    • Deleted accounts : All data permanently deleted within 30 days
    • Inactive accounts : We may delete accounts inactive for 3+ years after email notification

    International Data Transfers

    Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure adequate protection through:

    • Standard contractual clauses
    • Encryption in transit and at rest
    • Secure data center infrastructure

    Cookies & Tracking

    Web Version

    • Essential cookies only (authentication, preferences)
    • No advertising or tracking cookies
    • No third-party analytics

    Mobile Apps

    • No cookies used
    • No advertising identifiers
    • Minimal analytics (app crashes only, anonymized)

    Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will:

    • Update the "Last Updated" date
    • Continue to honor your privacy rights

    Continued use of LightSeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
